Families

Halteweidli is synonymous with adventure and freedom. And children love it.

Parents love it too because the nearest road is 800m away, and the nearest neighbours are 400m away, so the children can run, shout, and play to their hearts delight, without being in any kind of danger. While the adults relax.

The garden itself is 2000m2, and, if that is not enough, the fields nearby are big enough for any game including hide and seek.

The words that best describe the chalet are cosy and friendly, yet spacious.

Halteweidli is built to be lived in. The kitchen has as many utensils and appliances as at home. The laundry has a 7kg washing machine and two tumble dryers. You really will feel it is home away from home.

The chalet is particularly child-friendly with a large split-level playroom-come-bedroom, board games, puzzles, high chair, etc. It is located right next to the largest Llama and Alpaca herd in Europe (250  animals), and in a village that offers great slopes for beginners and younger skiers.

There are so many things to do, both in the surrounding countryside, but also a bit further afield, that you won't have time to do them all!

Visit the Ballenberg open air museum and it’s 250 Swiss farm houses, Interlaken and the Top of Europe Jungfrau train, take a funicular up the Niesen for a spectacular sunset, visit the caviar farm in Frutigen, or take a pedalo ride on the Blauesee in Kandersteg.

Or the more adventurous can try zip wiring, white water canyoning, diving or sailing nearby.

Within one kilometer of the chalet go Western Riding, rent an electric bike, a mountain bike, or go for a carriage ride - or just visit the local pool and it's spa.

The possibilities are endless.

The games room in the house is designed for children of all ages: the dressing up box has outfits for both children and adults ..., the puzzles and games are also suitable, as they say, from ages 2 to 102, and for the more energetic we also have badminton, pétanque, and other outside games for the whole family.

Summer and Winter are both great times to visit - as are Autumn and Spring.

In the Summer there are wonderful walks down to the lake and the swimming pool in Spiez, rides on the paddle steamers on the lake, rafting, western horse riding, wind surfing, canyoning, zip wiring, to name just a few of the many activities near the chalet.

Snow snow angels, tobogganing, skiing, all straight from the door - and roast chestnuts on the open fire afterwards. Christmas is a very special time as the chalet is at the heart of the Weihnachtsweg (Christmas trail) which depicts the Christmas story with live donkeys and sheep (and hot wine ...). In addition to all the animals that live in the woods nearby (we have a family of Chamois, deer, foxes, rabbits, to name some of our regular visitors), we regularly receive the visit of a couple of reindeer during the Winter.
