About the Chalet

Our unique chalet is built in a nature reserve, and nestles discretely in the hillside. It is a mix of both classic Swiss chalet architecture and breath-taking modern design.

Halteweidli is designed to be lived in, equipped with a large washing machine and two tumble dryers, a dish washer and every appliance one could dream of in the kitchen. There is plenty of cupboard space, a library with fiction and non-fiction in English, French and German, and plenty of games.

The main living space features high ceilings, an open fire, and stunning views from the large windows. The good-sized bedrooms are cosy with built-in wardrobes. All have lovely views.

The Living  Space

The spacious living area comprises a large, comfortable lounge and a dedicated dining area. Both have breathtaking views on 3 sides, and a fireplace. The chalet was renovated in both 2011 and 2020, and features high-speed wifi and NetFlix on a 49" flat screen TV.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need. From induction hotplates, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, to two different coffee machines, raclette and fondue sets, electric whisk, toaster, etc., it offers large storage cupboards and worktops.

And it's got an amazing view over the mountains down to the Thunersee!

The bedrooms

Each of the six bedrooms has an amazing view. We have three double rooms with double beds, and three other rooms which sleep ten people in double and single beds. Two of the bedrooms have their own balcony, and they all have built-in wardrobes and storage space.

The children's room is quite unique on a split level - reminiscent of an old fashioned hay loft - with the games on the lower level and the beds on the upper level.

The bathrooms

There are three bathrooms in the chalet. Two were built in 2011 and one in 2020. They feature a hydro massage shower, an open shower and a bath/shower, and each have a stool to ensure the younger members of the party brush their teeth properly.

The garden and terraces

Both terraces are south facing, and, with a BBQ, and firepit are perfect for al fresco dining both in Summer and in Winter. The large garden backs onto a nature reserve and is perfect for relaxing in the two loungers or just lying on the grass.
